Oh, Scorpion, I know when the clutch is slipping (Have had 6 bikes so far over 20 yrs), and it was definitely the fuel. Yes Dave, I did take your comment seriously and addressed that issue with some carb cleaner and a little scotch brite action on both the slide and the housing. Sorry I did not mention it in my original post. I did the fix today and the baby is running like a dream again. I do think I will try to locate a small in-line fuel filter though. There are two jets (on up top and one in the float bowl area) with real tiny orifices. Any little piece of trash could clog those babies and I do not really know what their function is, but I suppose they are there for a reason. I will keep everyone posted, but it runs like a champ again now. Oh, looked at my warraty paper work and I still have another month of extended warraty before I can tear into the muffler. Later.
